DAY 1

Snooker

Scott 63 def. Bryan 31

In the snooker, Bryan was never really a chance; Scott got off to a great start and generally played better to take 5 championship points, easily winning the first match of the Boyz Olympics.

Pool
Scott 3 def. Bryan 2

After losing the first 2 racks in an event which Scott was heavily tipped to win easily, Bryan's game lifted. The pressure was suddenly on, and Scott started to miss relatively easy pots. It still took a measure of luck for Bryan to claw his way back into the game. He fluked his last ball after Scott had set up the black, and the white bounced off the jaws and into prime position for Bryan to take the 3rd rack.
Scott blundered midway through the 4th rack as he potted Bryan's ball while trying to get it out of the way of the pot, giving him 2 shots and the initiative to take the frame. It all came down to the decider.
The pressure was well and truly on Scott, and he knew it. A strong break set up an early advantage for Scott who looked focused, but Bryan had nothing to lose. Behind by a long way, Bryan came up with 3 pots in a row from superb play, and almost got a fourth. But it was Scott who emerged victorious, sinking his last ball and then nailing the ridiculously clutch black, to take the points. Bryan was left with 1 ball on the table to rue what might have been.

DAY 2

Fifa
Scott 2 def. Bryan 0

Bryan's choice was Portugal, hoping to harness Ronaldo, and Scott followed up with his favoured team Germany. However it took Scott til the second leg in the 70th minute to score his first goal, suffering under some huge pressure for most of the duration. When he finally scored, the celebration was something to behold.

Smash

Scott 9 def. Bryan 6

In controversial circumstances, Scott took out his 4th victory of the tournament, running away with it in the last two games with Ike. He was handed a lifeline after his poor Mr. Game and Watch pick gave Bryan the chance to capitalize with Ike and deliver Scott with a doghn. However, in a gesture of goodwill Bryan decided to get rid of the doghn ends match clause, and Scott never looked back. Some poor tactical picks from Bryan eased the pressure, and Scott it was who took out the match, leaving Bryan still searching for his first points of the tournament.

DAY 3

Darts

Scott 2 def. Bryan 1

After taking the first leg in stylish fashion, Bryan crumbled. Scott took out double 8 to win the second leg, thanks to Bryan's numerous missed chances, and force a decider. Bryan scored higher but could not close the match out, while Scott came within range to steal the event. The pressure was immense as Bryan could not buy a double, and finally blundered to leave himself with 3, allowing Scott several chances to win. After some narrow misses he took out his 5th event straight, with Bryan yet to open his account and looking physically ill.

Bubble Struggle

Bryan 23 def. Scott 11

Easy win here for Bryan, despite the mounting pressure over his lack of points so far. Scott threw too many of his lives away by overenthusiastic play.

DAY 4

Trials

Scott 2 def. Bryan 0

Turns out Scott is way better than Bryan at Trials. Many expected the race to be closer than it was, but Scott just dominated, wrapping both runs up before the last race and bringing his A-game.

Halo

Scott 2 def. Bryan 0

Scott knows how to play cheap to get the win.

DAY 5

Air Hockey

Scott 7 def. Bryan 5

Scott by this stage of the Olympics has huge amounts of confidence. He took out this reasonably close game basically on the back of momentum generated through all of his previous wins, as Bryan wasn't up to the challenge, and is clearly feeling the pressure in every event.

DAY 6

Juggling Challenge

Bryan 54 def. Scott 42

It was Bryan who showed the composure to win his second event, overcoming Scott in front of a bumper crowd. Scott posted the first score, a solid 42, but Bryan immediately replied with 54, and once Scott failed to control his first attempt when on 32, the pressure built. With a single digit score on his second attempt, and with basically all of Taroona watching the third attempt, Scott failed to master the pressure.

5 v 5 Soccer Challenge
Scott's Team 5 def. Bryan's Team 4

Scott was joined by Tim, Alec, Marcus and Iain to take on Bryan's team of Andy, Alex, Michael and Tom BJ in this spontaneous event for 5 points today. The teams were chosen before the match, and it was Bryan with first pick.

DAY 7

Mini-golf

Scott 114 def. Bryan 126

A coin was tossed and it was decided that the indoor course was the first to be played at Putters, a flip which did not do Bryan any favours. He had the yips on the first hole, missing two easy putts, and then hit the ball into the water twice on the next hole, the second time losing it under a bridge. This was a sign of things to come for Bryan, as Scott put him to the sword, scoring a very impressive 55. Bryan's score was his worst in history: 68.

With a 13 shot lead going into the second half of the event, it seemed that Scott could afford to be casual, and indeed the first few holes the competitors looked to be just going through the motions. But once Bryan found a bit of touch he realised that a comeback was not beyond the realms of possibility, and started to put his head down and really focus on the match at hand. Through four holes he was three strokes better, but then Scott restored his lead over the next three holes. Bryan needed to pick up 13 shots from the remaining 11 holes.

From there on, Bryan played some sparkling golf, putting clinically and picking up shots on each and every one of the next 7 holes, with 4 birdies and 3 pars. 9 shots were pulled back over Scott, who was suddenly feeling the pressure, seeing his apparently insurmountable lead evaporating before his very eyes. Bryan only needed to pick up 4 shots from the remaining 4 holes to draw the game, and he had momentum in spades. But at the 15th, things took a poor turn from Bryan, who missed a tricky downhill putt and notched a bogey, while Scott took advantage of a little bit of luck to convert a par. On the very next hole, Scott was ever so close to the water before his ball curved gracefully down the slope away from the hazard- and in to the hole. That just about wrapped up the match for the man, and on the next hole he produced a fine bit of golf to score a very solid par and shut the door on Bryan, who blew out the final few holes to finish well behind Scott overall, despite his spirited comeback. The final score for the second round ended up 58 Bryan, 59 Scott.

Ten Pin Bowling
Bryan def. Scott 2-0

Bryan was a class above Scott, but they were both fairly low class in this one. They both improved for their second game however, and it was Bryan who got his personal best game of 130, seeing off Scott's 92.
